Ocean Energy Inc. - Zafiro Producer

Ocean Energy, Inc. designed the flare porch installation for the Zafiro Producer. The work required the design of steel foundations, installation rigging procedures and equipment, integration of the porch structure into the ship hull girder, and layout of supports, walkways, and handrails.

Ocean Energy provided concept design, finite element engineering, and detail manufacturing design of two porches suitable for either two Coflexip flexible pipe flare hoses or a single rubber hose flare line. We were also responsible for vendor inspection and oversight. The work included the following specific tasks:

Assessment and review of dynamic load data
Evaluate and establish riser termination orientation
Concept and detail design of porch connection
Establish riser installation procedure
Support the offshore installation of porch assembly
Work with vendors during fabrication
Interface with process engineering consultants
Detail finite element design
Interfacing with American Bureau of Shipping
Concept and detailed design of installation hoist equipment
